Coconut Diaries: Breadfruits, Fire, Starry Night

We got two breadfruits from our sweet neighbour over the weekend. Last night was the perfect time to roast them. And I thought a traditional breadfruit fire would be perfect.

The climate is on the cooler side right now on the island. But we islanders hardly ever make a bonfire. Especially at home... We don't get much cold weather, so we don't have much use for bonfires. But sitting around a fire in the open air, with breadfruits roasting for a nice meal is what we'll do anytime of year☺

Last night... It was such a beautiful and starry night. We sat around the fire chatting and chilling with Charlotte frolicking, but not coming too near the fire. Beautiful memories♥

The breadfruits made a lovely breakfast this morning☺

How is it going in your neck of the woods with the climate? Sitting around any fires yet?

Happy Wednesday☺

Love,
Summer

  1. No bonfires here the rain would put them out. Great photos. Have a blessed day. Madeline

  2. The weather can't figure out WHAT it wants to be. One day it is windy and cold and then the next one we are wearing shorts and flip flops.

  3. It's finally a bit cooler here. Although yesterday I was wearing shorts. I've never seen bread fruit.

  4. We've been having very changeable weather. Cold one day, warm the next. rainy today but this time of year it should be snow.

  5. Ahh, breadfruits... the first time I ate those was in Tonga, in the Pacific Islands. Yum!

  6. We still have a "burn ban" in middle Tennessee because it's been so dry here. It rained yesterday but I don't think it was quite enough. We are having a fire pit for our back porch delivered Friday, though. It's one of those small ones that runs on propane, so I don't think it qualifies for the burn ban.
