Island Mystery: Crayfish And Shrimp

Crayfish and shrimp are freshwater crustaceans. They look like and are related to lobsters.

Crayfish and shrimp are cooked and sold by islanders in the town areas and also on highways.

There were a lot of crayfish and shrimp in a river that I always splashed around in when I was growing up. You would be in the water and they would come and tingle at your feet. It would sending me running and bawling out of the water quite frequently☺

It was creepy, but kind of exciting.

Do you have rivers, lakes or anything like these creatures around?

Love,
Summer

  1. I would have screamed like a girl lol. We are supposed to have crayfish in the river than runs at the boundary of our land. We've not seen any yet though.

  2. We used to catch the crayfish in the river by my grandma's house then cook them over a fire on the shore.

  3. Desert here...I don't think there are crayfish in the Rio Grande River...but I could be wrong. :) They sound like good eating to me!

  4. We live near the Pacific Ocean, so, we do have many sea creatures and enjoy fresh salmon from time to time. There really is nothing quite like fresh fish! I didn't realise that shrimp were fresh water creatures...I thought they were from the oceans. Hmmm....interesting. I think your Island Mystery series is delightful. Hugs, Camille
