Be In The Moment

I have had to go back to the drawing board with my life journey many times. I aim to thrive and not merely survive... To live and not just exist. But life happens. And we all go through phases where we are simply going through our days and feeling empty meanwhile.

I find it challenging at times to be in the moment. Especially in this day and age where it's mostly about  getting the perfect photo. Everything is a 'thing', and there are so many goals to achieve.

I go to battle with myself at times. Reminding and forcing myself to simplify and savour each day. It's so easy to get caught up in the past, the future and trends. It's an ongoing battle to not get caught up in all the buzz of life, while today slips by.

There is a lot of beauty in life to see, feel and experience. But we have to slow down to see it. Today, the moment you have now, was once the future. And it shapes the past and memories that it will be a part of tomorrow.

So enjoy the taste and smell of your meal today. Be grateful for your home and the good people in your life. Don't let the good things in life just pass you by, because you are too busy to notice them.

Be in the moment and treasure your today.

Happy Thursday!

Love,
Summer

  1. Never a truer word said. We are surrounded by beauty we just need to open our eyes.

  4. This is a beautiful post, Summer, and a most introspective one. You are younger than I and sound far wiser than I was at your age. I learned a long time ago I will never be a perfect person, a continually neat person, an always-well-put-together person. And that's OK. Life gets bigger than me. All I want, really, is to be a good person who cares, helps, loves and does her best -- one day at a time.
